Our Gazelle goes up quickly. Getting the tent, chairs and sleeping gear into the car takes more planning. Here are the packed-size checks, our experience with the Expanders and a Campster II comparison we have not tried.
First question Will the shelter and chairs fit the car after the sleeping gear is packed?
Consider it when: You want shade attached to a compatible vehicle rack.
Keep in mind: Our part number is unknown. Confirm brackets, deployed clearance and the wind precautions for your model.

Gazelle T4 Hub Tent
Current tent size reference
Our Gazelle tent. Its exact model is unconfirmed; the T4 specifications below describe the current comparison model.
From our setup
We own a green Gazelle tent, but have not confirmed its model. The T4 facts describe a current model we have not tested.
Details that affect the fit
Standard T4 Alpine Green GT400GR: 94 × 94 in floor; 78 in height
GT400GR: 66.5 in packed length; 30 lb listed weight
Consider it when: You want a hub-style car-camping tent and have room for its long packed bag.
Keep in mind: The current T4 packs to 66.5 inches and weighs 30 lb. Our green tent model is not confirmed.
Before you choose: Confirm the exact variant, then measure a loaded cargo corridor for the 66.5-inch GT400GR bag. Overland EXP GT403AG is a separate 57-inch reference.
Evidence checked . Current specifications may differ from older gear.
Our older chair, not a photograph of a newly purchased CHAI007.
From our setup
We bought two at the Front Runner store in Ventura during the holidays. They folded small enough for our limited cargo space and were comfortable for us. We repaired a rivet a few years later, and the repair has held up. Both chairs now live in our cab-over camper and still come with us. Our older pair may differ from today’s CHAI007.
Details that affect the fit
Current CHAI007 listed net weight: 4 kg
Current product dimensions: 521 mm deep × 444.5 mm wide × 787 mm high
Steel frame, telescoping fold, cup holder, utility pocket and carry handle
The displayed parcel dimensions are shipping dimensions, not verified folded dimensions
Consider it when: You want a compact-folding steel chair for a vehicle setup.
Keep in mind: The current CHAI007 lists a 4 kg net weight. We repaired a rivet on our older pair; confirm the folded size and version you are buying.
Before you choose: Compare folded size, seat height and load rating before adding more chairs.
Evidence checked . Current specifications may differ from older gear.

Why compare it
We need more chairs for our family and are considering Campster II. We have not used it. Its lower listed weight does not tell us how comfortable it will be or whether it will suit the kids.

Before you buy
Is Campster II lighter than the Front Runner Expander?
Current manufacturer listings give 1.46 kg for Campster II and 4 kg for CHAI007 Expander. Those are listed weights, not measurements of our older chairs. Campster II also lists a 12-inch seat height; we have not compared their comfort or stability.
How much room does a Gazelle T4 need in the car?
The current T4 lists a 66.5-inch packed length and 30 lb weight. Measure the bag space with the rest of your gear loaded. Our green Gazelle model is unconfirmed, so do not use our photo to identify a current T4.
